station3 enters professional sports.

Handball is Germany’s number one indoor sport, and station3 is tapping into the energy and potential of this dynamic discipline to enter the professional sports arena. We are thrilled to pursue the next sporting goals together with HSG Krefeld Niederrhein – one of the leading professional clubs in the Lower Rhine region – supporting the third-division team with our expertise in brand building and innovative strategies to turn the “Eagles” into a true, powerful brand.

HSG Krefeld Niederrhein has clear sporting ambitions. To achieve these goals, team spirit, fans, and sponsors are essential. That’s why station3 developed a claim that reflects the identity of the Eagles and their supporters, strengthens their sense of unity, and keeps the focus firmly on sporting success: Gemeinsam hoch hinaus (Rising Together). The claim communicates a shared vision, reinforces the club from the grassroots to the leadership through strong core values, and can be used in many ways to support the club’s continued development.

Center stage for Eddie: The eagle comes to life.

Handball is one of the most dynamic sports, pushing its players to the limit. We analyzed the athletes’ movement patterns and jump techniques – and used these insights to bring the illustrated mascot “Eddie” to life.

everything has to come together

Building on the new claim and aiming to strengthen the team’s recognizability, station3 also refreshed HSG’s entire visual identity. We introduced a new typography and a consistent color system that runs across all communication channels. From ads to jerseys to the roster booklet, the Eagles’ new look is unmistakably yellow and black – bold, cohesive, and instantly recognizable. Design elements such as the wing motif and the illustrations of the eagle “Eddie” complete the visual world. Alongside the sport’s inherent dynamism, clear messaging, a consistent color palette, and a coherent visual language now form the core elements of the new brand design. The players themselves are enthusiastic – they use our templates, share and reshare branded content, and present themselves with pride and confidence..

The fans: a force not to be underestimated

A close connection with the fans is essential for a professional handball club, both on and off the court. The flexibility and direct communication offered by the various social media channels work perfectly in our favor. Instagram posts provide everything a follower could want: game information, club news, and of course photos and videos of the players – on the court and behind the scenes. Always consistently presented in the new look, with strong identification potential. This way, followers become true fans, fully in line with our strategy and the ambitions of the up-and-coming professional club.

Players as brand ambassadors – the perfect brand presence

An important step in brand building is giving the brand a face. And who could embody credibility, passion, and team spirit better than the players themselves? That’s why station3 organized a photoshoot with the players as well as the entire coaching and staff team. We portray the team in a unified, modern, and clean look – avoiding overly staged or scripted poses and letting their natural strength and confidence speak for themselves.
